Private, draft, review, commitment, and versions
Pages on this site pass through four publication states:
Draft is collaborative publication, not secrecy. Use private when the work must stay off the site entirely.
Current release — Genesis
The Genesis batch is the first public corpus on this site: the Genesis article series and the knowledge-stack artifacts (terms, patterns, values, principles, hypotheses, regulations, authors, works, and about pages) that support it. Post-Genesis article series are visible in draft for collaboration; the Genesis stack itself is in review.
Publishing this site taught me something I should have encoded earlier: draft and review are not optional polish — they are distinct, visible states a published document needs before commit. Draft is for shared work-in-progress; review is for stabilizing text before it crosses the commitment boundary. I had treated too much as implicitly “live”; the four-state model (private · draft · review · committed) fixes that.
Where things stand now. The site is readable and linkable, but nothing in the Genesis batch is frozen yet. I am still making small adjustments — wording, cross-links, stance on sources, metadata — as the corpus settles. I expect the review phase to complete within the next few weeks. After that, the initial set of articles and artifacts will be committed to the Genesis release, frozen, and given a public publish date. Until then, treat every page as in review or draft, not as final committed prose.
When a page is committed to a public release, its text is frozen. If something needs correction or revision, a new version is published and the earlier one is superseded.
Superseded versions remain readable. They are not linked from the main navigation, but you can open them from the release they belonged to.

First public batch — Genesis articles and knowledge-stack artifacts are visible on the site in review (post-Genesis series in draft). I learned that explicit draft and review states are needed before commit: nothing in this batch is frozen yet. Small adjustments continue; review should finish in the next few weeks, then this initial corpus will be committed and frozen.
